The next time somebody asks - What's your good name?, I swear, I am going to cave their face right in and back through the other end, bite off one of their ears, take a ship to the tuvalu islands and feed it to spotted dolphins that have rabies.

Hollow form and good mother in space

In 1985, during an eight-day NASA experiment for Skylab 2, a bone fragment from Maiasaura(good mother lizard) flew into space.

Interestingly, Maiasaura is not the only dinosaur to have gone to space. In 1998, a Coelophysis(meaning hollow form) skull traveled to the space station MIR as part of a space shuttle Endeavor trip.
Reading The junior science encyclopedia under the water tank in the terrace was half my childhood.A quarter of the rest was spent with my girl cousin under the same water tank exploring each other and the rest in climbing the water tank. So, effectively, 87.5% of my childhood was spent alone, and I really came to love being a loner.

Am glad that I am back there. After a very long time, had my first day of enjoyable solitude today, and am loving every minute of it. There is no water tank, but there is always wikipedia and internet porn.

Cooling crap

This was our idea of fun - a couple of years back. Holy crap. Can't believe I wrote that.

The Film : Suddenly Die
Cast : Al Mani, Poolu and the hapless kashmiri girl

This intricate love story revolves around, what else->
espionage, counter-espionage, strike, conter-strike,
love, counter-love, treachery, counter-treachery,
deception,, voodoo magic, pult, counter-pult, jehad,
mujahideens, BBC, pult, hedonism, sekularism, and most
importantly, frindship, and how it helps ppl thru
tough times

very very feel good type of movie, and so the girl's
dad is obvi Jackie Shroff, as a token of appreciation
of his scintillating performance in Yaadein. he has a
crying scene at the last where he comes in with his
carefully undone hair and cries the shit out.

al mani plays his real world role of being an
underworld computer geek, who wrote manix for the
benifit of the world at large. it went into wrong
hands which in these days is the Al-Qaeda. so

Mission : Operation Okkalavozhi

to catch the sister-fucker osama and kill the mama.

mani is THE man for the job. being the mercenary that
he is, he goes to afghanistan under the disguise of a
C programmer out to develop jehadi programs.
cirsumstances prove propitious and we find or wanton
here in kashmir where , as teleology would have it, he
meets our heroein who is the throes of communal
violence-> lots of scope for senti here. see, we shdnt

leave out any section of audience from out film.
falls in love with her, and dedicates his life to free
kashmir from jehadis.

so, he takes the most obvious step-> declares jehad on
jehadis themself. wow, thats an interesting situ. see,
the jehadis cant pursue jehad for if they pursue
jehad, they have to kill themselves. if they dont they
arent jehadis. "Catch 66" situation.

meanwhile sorry for the violence for i shun it, the
heroein gets raped, pillaged, plundered, butchered,
vital parts taken out for sale in the black market,
whipped, skinned. god, i hate violence, her family
slaughtered, house burnt, all because she belonged to
the minorty cammanatti.

enters mani. out heroein had learned manix and written
a progam for him

avoid mani()
{
house.get.out(now);
bomb.blow(10_seconds);
}

wow, how romantic. mani comes into the burning house t
recover his love's mooku-shali kerchief. thats love.
thunders mani, and the whole of kashmir cowers, he
takes the battle in his arms. poolu is the villain.

rest later.

Wish my teachers had taught this at school.

This is funny
Jerry Seinfeld

* Golden Globe for Best Performance by an Actor in a Comedy Series - 1994.

Is it one of those Rickshaw mama type stunts? And why the fuck didn't Newman get the award? Huh!

Organic test for primality, number systems and how dinosaurs humped

Life always has surprises in store, biological or metaphysical.

There was this very interesting thread on dinosaur mailing list on sauropod breeding strategy. One person supposed that sauropods probably had the same breeding strategy as bamboos

A wild conjecture. Since sauropods were presumably very long-lived could
they have used the same breeding strategy as e. g. cicadas or bamboo, i e
synchronized breeding at long intervals thus "swamping" predators with a
vast number of young but leaving lean pickings inbetween breeding episodes?
To judge from the cicadas a prime number of years (11, 13, 17, 19) is best
since it cannot be tracked by any shorter periodicity.

That biological organisms follow a breeding strategy based on prime numbers stunned me. Was discussing this with my friend over lunch yesterday and were wondering how purely biological systems had tests for primality. The least they need is to have is a mechanism for subtraction and a counter, and a loop of course. Still beats me.

And I also realised that prime numbers are prime in all number systems, something that sounds so trivial now. My initial incredulity reminded me of this event. And yes, I was the pseudo-sceptic there :)

The Wanderers and Sin City. Must be my lucky day.
The Wanderers and Sin City. Must be my lucky day.

Reminder to self: No arbit mails and arbit SMSs to people, esp. impulsive ones.
It's lemon time again, for those of you that understand.

Christian prank-swers

Could it be that tyrannosaurs were mostly plant-eaters, not meat-eaters? The shape of their teeth alone can't tell us what they ate. Perhaps they used their sharp teeth and claws to tear up tough plants and fruits, not dinosaurs. Obviously sharp teeth can serve other purposes than simply cutting meat, just as kitchen knives can be used for cutting carrots as well as steaks.
