Math foo

Will somebody explain the logic behind two negatives making a positive.



In other words, can you give me a real-life example of -2x-2 = 4, something along the lines of You have two apples, and your friend has four....



Please, this is driving me crazy.

Mult by minus mean a change of ownership, so if you change that twice you're back at the original person.

Maths is abstract and doesn't need real life examples. The more you ask these kind of stupid questions in Maths, the more foolish you will look.
